Fundamentals of Dental Assisting

This class is designed to provide participants with the fundamental training necessary to enter the Dental Assisting profession.  There is no professional credential associated with this class, but the class will provide a crucial step along the pathway to earning the National Entry Level Dental Assistant Certification.  Upon successful completion, the participant will receive a Continuing Education Certificate from ESCC certifiying their training and ability to serve as a Dental Assistant.

The participants will learn the following dental care curriculum topics:

  • Standard Precautions for Patients and Operators
  • Hand Hygiene
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Cross Contamination
  • Instrument/Device Processing
  • Supply and Inventory

  • Collecting and Recording Data
  • Oral Health Management
  • Dental Procedures
  • Office Operations
  • Medical and Dental Emergencies
