CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for establishing a career in IT and the preferred qualifying credential for technical support and IT operational roles. It is the only industry-recognized credential with performance-based items to prove pros can think on their feet to perform critical IT support tasks in the moment. It is trusted by employers around the world to identify the go-to person in endpoint management & technical support roles. Candidates will be better prepared to troubleshoot, problem-solve and understand a wide variety of issues ranging from networking and operating systems to mobile devices and security. A+ supports the ability to connect users to the data they need to do their jobs regardless of the devices being used. This class is offered under Virginia's FastForward program; students (or their employer) are responsible for the first one-third of the class cost; the Commonwealth of Virginia pays the remaining two-thirds. Financial assistance is available for students to help with their one-third responsibility, including Virginia's G3 program. It is also Virginia Ready eligible, which provides students who pass their certification exam a $1,000 stipend.
Class price includes instructor costs, text books, online learning resources, and price of one credentialing exam.
Students passing the class are eligible to receive academic credit for ETR 228 (Computer Troubleshooting and Repair).
