OSHA 30- General Industry

The OSHA 30-HOUR TRAINING COURSE FOR GENERAL INDUSTRY (“OSHA30 GI”) is designed to instruct foremen, supervisors, managers, safety committee members, safety staff and those with responsibility for workplace safety, on the basics of general health and safety regulations for their workplace. Additionally, this course provides students with an overview of how the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) operates. There are no prerequisites required to take OSHA30 GI.
The OSHA30 GI is based upon the federal OSHA 1910 general industry regulations, and each student will receive their own copy of the OSHA general industry standards as part of their 30-hour course materials. We address state-specific OSHA requirements - where applicable - and the course is intended for operations such as factories and most other manufacturing sites, healthcare providers, warehousing and logistics operations, oil and gas production and refinery sites, and service industries.

  • Managing safety and health
  • Walking and working surfaces
  • Exit routes, emergency action plans, fire prevention and protection
  • Electrical
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Materials handling
  • Hazard communication
  • Hazardous materials
    • Flammable and combustible liquids
    • Spray finishing
    • Compressed gases
    • Dipping and coating operations
  • Permit-required confined spaces
  • Lockout/tagout
  • Machine guarding
  • Welding, cutting, and brazing
  • Introduction to industrial hygiene
  • Respiratory protection
  • Industrial noise and hearing conservation
  • Bloodborne pathogens
  • Ergonomics
  • Fall protection
  • Safety and health programs
  • Powered industrial trucks (forklifts)
When a student successfully completes this course, they will receive the official DOL / OSHA30 GI wallet card. The cards are accepted in all 50 states and the U.S. territories. They will also receive a personalized certificate for their completion.
